

Sultans' owners Mireya & Fady Shaheen opened the restaurant in May of 2007 with the dream of bringing a new type of cuisine to Corpus Christi. With their mixture of backgrounds Fady from Bethlehem and Mireya from Monterey, Mexico they envisioned a blend of Mediterranean cuisines that would embrace the foods they both loved and so Sultans was made.
Chef Cole was born on an island off the coast of Maine where she grew up in the back of a fine dining seafood restaurant and chowder house. She started in the back kitchen baking pastries and muffins every morning then moved on learning all the different stations in the kitchen. She is classically trained in French Cuisine, graduating top of her class from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and going on to work her way through some of the finest restaurants in the US. She has been the executive chef and the executive pastry chef of several restaurants in California and now brings her love of food to Sultans Mediterranean Cuisine where they make fresh pasta and bread daily.
